I contend that 3. is cars. Since I am writing a novel about traffic, I decided to come up with a list of car songs that will be the creative sound track for my writing process. I asked my friends on facebook and twitter to suggest songs about cars. I placed all the suggestions into a big list, which you can view here: All Songs About Cars. Then I proceeded to reduce the list to my favorite 10. Here we go:

10. Pink Cadillac Natalie Cole

Listening to this song makes me want to run out of the house to buy a pink Cadillac.

9. Mustang Sally by Wilson Pickett

This is one is a classic. The first one that popped into my head when I thought of to form a list of songs about a car.

8. One Piece At A Time by Johnny Cash

Cash tells us the amusing story of how he steals car parts from the factory and tries to put the car together on his own.

7. Songs about a car: Panda by Desiigner

This sleeper hit has a totally awesome beat. The Panda is a reference to a white BMW X6.

6. Freeway of Love by Aretha Franklin

Who can say no to majestic Aretha Franklin.

A strange story that is hypnotic. A hidden gem.

4. I Drove All Night by Cyndi Lauper

Cyndi drives all night to be with the man she loves. How could I resist?

John Travolta rubbing cellophane wrap against his hips …. need I say more?

2. Life is a Highway by Tom Cochrane

This song has brought me hours and hours of enjoyment. It almost made it to the #1 spot.

That CD never gets old. That voice reverberates ever so gently.
